Soroptimist International Club München-Schwabing

Welcome at SI Club München-Schwabing.
Our club was founded on 20 March 1976 (30th Club of SI Germany).

We are 35 members (May 2016).

We meet every 4th Tuesday of the month to have dinner and discuss various topics.
Sorores from other clubs are always welcome.

Soroptimist International -  the first international womens' network

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls.  
Our network of around 80,000 club members in 132 countries and territories works at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.


Projects take place all over the world focusing on issues such as Violence Against Women, Safe Sanitation, Displacement, Education, Leadership - anything that effects the lives of women and girls.  

SI was founded in 1921 in Oakland, California; in 1924 the first European clubs were founded.
The first club in Germany was founded in 1930 in Berlin.
SI is represented in 117 countries; there are about 81,000 members organised in 3,200 clubs.


In Germany (Soroptimist International Deutschland - SID) , there are 212 clubs with more than 6,500 members.
